Scavenger Hunt with a Difference

posted in: General Post | 1

For the last couple of weeks I have been taking part in a “for fun” challenge on twitter set up by Spked

The idea is simple… each week there are five things to “find” in a scavenger hunt-style game, with the idea being to post a photo of each item to twitter as you find them.

The items can be easy or hard, obvious or more abstract.  For example, in the first week I took part, the items were:

A torch
A torch
A skate (any type)

A snow globe
A snow globe
Something relating to Canada

Wildcard – 5 of the same thing in different colours but NOT the Olympic rings! (All on one picture)

 The points work very simply…

  • One point for every item posted
  • 5 bonus points for the first person to post all 5
  • 5 bonus points for the best entry to the fifth item on the list which will be the wildcard think outside the box item.

Each “competition” lasts four weeks (so 20 items in total), and this time it was won by Rushton2 with 40 points, I came a very respectful second place with 35 points.

There are no prizes or anything like that, just the glory of winning and having fun completeting the scavenger hunt.

A new round starts this week so why not give it a go?  Check out http://twitpicscavhunt.wordpress.com and get ready for the fun to start on Monday!  (You obviously need a Twitter account to play along but I can recommend getting one of those if you haven’t got one already!)

Thanks Chris for coming up with this fab idea and running it for us 🙂
