I have had a really lovely May Day Bank Holiday today. I spent the afternoon/evening with friends – first we walked around a nature reserve in Lincolnshire, then we had a barbecue, and then I wandered to a fair to help me feel like a teenager again!
We walked in the heart of the Lincolnshire fens. I’ve mentioned before that not all of Lincolnshire is as flat as people think… but this area really is that flat. We walked along a bank which is a couple of metres above sea level – part of the defences. On the bank it was really very windy, but we had a good walk (about 3 miles or so) and it stayed dry and sunny which was a bonus.
