Year in Photos (14 May 2010)

posted in: Year in Photos | 2

I went on a photography course today at Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire (more on that in a blog post later on), and on my way back to the car at the end of the day I noted a squirrel sitting on the top of a post.  So I quickly put my telephoto lens (70-300mm) on my DSLR to attempt to take a few pics.  I was hoping I could put into practice what I learnt about aperture, depth of field and composition to get a couple of decent shots.

Today’s year in photos picture is one of my favourites (bigger than normal coz I like it so much!):

14/05/10: Mr Squirrel on a pole

I was quite pleased with the photos, there were a handful that were worth keeping (quite something considering I had the lens at 300mm on just a monopod and not my tripod), and here are some others I wanted to share. The squirrel was really cute after all!

Mr Squirrel noticed me (not quite as nicely focussed but not too bad)
