This month I was sent two products by mypure to review – a body lotion and a shampoo:

I spend alot of my time complaining that I have really fine hair.  I was very (very) blonde as a child (no jokes please!) and still am naturally blonde (again, no jokes please!) – and my hair is long, straight and thin.  As a result I keep it down most of the time – washing it every morning and generally leaving it to dry naturally unless I’m going out somewhere.  Because my hair is fine it gets greasy quickly, hence the need to wash it daily.

But yay – this conditioner says it’s designed for fine and oily hair – sounds perfect!  And I received it in the post the day before I was off on holiday on the motorbike, so I was pleased to have something that would keep my hair looking nice despite being in my helmet.  I know – tough challenge!

I was actually quite impressed.  It might cost a massive £7.49 for 225ml – way more than I would normally spend on conditioner – but it did a good job.  I was surprised I didn’t need to re-wash my hair when we got back to the cottage after a day of riding – my hair was still looking ok and went up in a ponytail without looking greasy (I didn’t change my shampoo at all, I should add).  The smell was lovely and has no strange “after smells” like you get from some hair cair products, and it was easy to rinse out which is a must for conditioner in my opinion (I haven’t got all day!).  I would like to try the shampoo that goes with this product to get the full effect.

And if you’re quick you can get a free A’kin Rose Mist when you order two items from the A’kin range on mypure… I wouldn’t normally promote special offers on the website but the Mist is the product I liked when I tried it last time (http://splodzblogz.wordpress.com/2010/06/11/mypure-review-may-2010/)!

Lovea Tahitian Monoi Moisturising Body Lotion

Like the conditioner I tested this month, I took this on holiday (although the bottle wasn’t really the best thing to take in a holdall!).  I used it daily and am still doing so now we’re home – it’s a sizeable bottle (£6.99 for 200ml).

This is a body lotion and so is fairly runny, but it’s not greasy and ‘soaks’ into the skin easily.  I must admit I prefer a thicker moisturising cream but this is ok and seems to go much further than the creams I normally use (I assume this is because it is thinner).  But apart from saying it did the job ok, I can’t find anything particularly special to point out about this product.  It’s nice, smells lovely, and works great, but it is what it is.  While it’s good enough, I won’t be replacing my current choice with this at the moment.

Thank you very much to mypure for sending me these products to review. If you would like to see a review of your product on Splodz Blogz, please get in touch.

Maybe you should try true Monoi de Tahiti products everything with the word “MONOI” on the label just might not be Monoi de Tahiti.
