Les Paul Google Doodle Forever

Did you see the Google Doodle on Thursday (9th June) to celebrate Les Paul’s 96th birthday?

Possibly my favourite of all time… hours of fun playing the Google guitar in the attempt to get actual tunes.

Google, thankfully, have decided to give this cool bit of coding a permanent home.

You can use your mouse to strum or your keyboard keys to “play” the strings… and they’ve even added a record button so you can share your musical skill with the world.

If you use the keys A S D F G H J K that’s your standard C scale octave, which means to play something like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star you type as follows:

AA-GG-HH-G-FF-DD-SS-A
GG-FF-DD-S
GG-FF-DD-S
AA-GG-HH-G-FF-DD-SS-A

Go on… have a play, and feel free to put your compositions/arrangements in the comments box below.
