What to Wear with this Dress

Over the last two or three years I have fallen in love with dresses. Pretty much a tomboy most of the time, I like dresses for work in the autumn and winter teamed with leggings and boots or tights and shoes. They are easy to wear, are comfortable and warm, and look great. They’d obviously look much better if I had a smaller belly and thinner legs but leggings and tights hide a lot!

I am currently coveting this dress from Dorothy Perkins. It’s just the sort of dress I’m talking about – perfect for the office with covered legs and with or without a long sleeved t-shirt underneath if it’s really cold. The neckline is really nice, and I adore those two bold flowers in green and red/purple (they are on the front and back).

The thing with dresses like this is you can change up your outfit simply by changing your footwear. I’ve chosen these six pairs of shoes and boots to go with the dress… which would you choose?

The Cara London high boots are a classic biker style, and the light grey would go really nicely – I reckon the chunky heel and buckle work well with this kind of dress, making the outfit comfortable for all day and keeping you nice and warm. If you prefer a more traditional, smarter black boot then the Pastelle is elegant and stylish.

You can’t go wrong with a pair of court shoes for work – the Moma rounded platform is just a bit different to plan black, and the Buffalo grey suede court would look great with some funky tights.  The high Cafenoir shoe boots in grey have a lovely shape and will make sure you walk tall, while the purple lined lace up boots by Nobrand would give the dress a really casual look for winters days.
