The final product from Tropical Sun I have to tell you about is their Chilli Garlic Sauce. Designed to be used as a cooking sauce, as a marinade or as a dip, this spicy sauce offers to add a kick to your food.
And a kick it certainly delivers. I had some on a chip and boy, it is definitely a chilli sauce! I’m probably a wuss and you’ll all tell me it’s actually very mild, but hey, never mind! It tastes good though, and LincsGeek (who also said it has a decent kick) added more to his plate.
I tried it as a cooking sauce too. I poured a good amount over a chicken breast, added some sliced onion and mushroom, and put it in a foil parcel and in the oven to bake. While the sauce lost some of the heat by using it in this way it still had a good chilli garlic flavour which had penetrated all the way through the chicken. It made a very yummy evening meal (and worked absolutely perfectly with mashed potato which soaked up all the juices… mmmmmmmmm).
I noticed the other day that Tropical Sun products are available in Sainsburys, and I was browsing the shelf wondering what to try next. Have you tried anything else in the range? What would you recommend?
