Book Review: How to Eat Loads and Stay Slim

How to Eat Loads and Stay Slim is the second book by author Peter Jones – you may remember him from such blog posts as How To Do Everything AND Be Happy, a self-help book designed to help you change your life. This new book is very similar in its aim, but very specifically looks at the age old problem of the juxtaposition that is eating what you want versus losing weight.

Co-written with Della Galton, How to Eat Loads and Stay Slim is a rather humorous take on a diet book, starting out by quashing the idea that that eating loads and staying slim are mutually exclusive. Good. I love my food, and that has been the downfall of any of my attempts to be healthier and lose weight. Anything that encourages me to eat lots gets a tick from me!

It would be rude of me to include all the advice that Peter and Della impart in this short book review, but I do want to assure you that the ideas and suggestions make an awful lot of sense. The book is genuinely based on the principle that you can eat loads and stay slim, and it gives examples of how you can do that. There are also some recipes, some alternatives and a few useful strategies to help you change the way you think about food.

I’m not going to say that this book has helped me lose weight (I can’t say that because I haven’t lost any!), but I have taken lots of the ideas within it (not sure if I’ve collected 30 stars yet) and tried to incorporate them into my life. I enjoyed reading it and will happily recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to diet but is willing to make a few changes in their ambition to reduce their belly size.
