Review: Damart Sport Thermal Top

Over the last couple of weeks we have definitely noticed the temperatures start to drop. Actually today is much milder, but earlier in the week especially it was icy on the ground and you could see each breath clearly defined as you exhaled.

This product I have been testing is the Damart Thermolactyle Ladies Long Sleeve Thermal T-Shirt – a skin tight base layer that is designed to keep you warm while exercising outdoors in the cold weather.

Damart say:

The innovation construction of the fabric gives each part of your body just what it needs, dependent on activity. It provides breathability and comfort. The looped knit on the inside traps air between your skin and the fabric to ensure optimum insulation. It perfectly follows the contours of your body due to the seamless construction providing maximum flexibility of movement.

I have to say the top is very comfortable. I wear it as designed, as a base layer next to my skin, with another t-shirt over the top and then also a jacket when needed. The weave of the fabric means the top sits in just the right places – moving with my body when I bend my arms and stretch. You can see how the fabric has been used in different directions in these photos below.

I have been wearing this top for the cycle ride to work and it has done its job very well. I believe it definitely helps keep me warm on cold mornings and even when I got wet on the way home a couple of times. The thermolactyl layer has worked well as the only thermal layer I’ve worn, but when coupled with a microfleece it makes such a difference and so this will definitely be coming with me to Finland in January!

Take a look at the Thermal T-Shirt over on the Damart website. Size wise I have the medium/large and it is absolutely skin tight (which is why you’re not getting a photo of me wearing it!) – the smaller one wouldn’t fit so bear this in mind when ordering. Oh and I should add it’s nice to have a technical layer piece in this easy to wear dark purple – it’s nice to have something other than black (or pink!).

Disclaimer: Damart sent me this top to try out. I have not been told what to write and have been no less honest as a result of receiving the product for free.
