These are Dad’s Sweets – Personalised Kilner Jar from My 1st Years

It might be a month away (15th June, if you were wondering), but I’ve already started thinking about father’s day. With our big trip coming up and a number of birthdays and other celebrations being around that time, I want to make sure I’ve got everything organised so there is no last minute panic (or belated gifting when I come home!).

My 1st Years have helped me out this year by sending me this lovely Kilner Jar to give to my Dad for Father’s Day. As I know he reads my blog I’m giving the game away somewhat, but never mind! He’s still got to wait until the middle of June, though, is that mean?!

The jar is a proper Kilner Jar with the airtight seal that can actually be used for anything. This one says “Dad’s Sweets” (my choice of words) so naturally I filled it up with something suitable – some coconut mushrooms, one of my Dad’s all-time favourites (perhaps second to Ferrero Rocher but I didn’t think I’d get many of those in the jar!). The jar took 600g of these sweets, so quite a lot, and should keep them nice and fresh for a good few days. It is a gorgeous personalised gift that I am sure my Dad will appreciate, and no doubt will keep it topped up. I did consider writing on the solid etched label space with a Sharpie but thought it best to leave that for Dad so he can label it himself if he wishes.
