Review: Krusell Malmo Flip Cover for iPad Air2

I am a very lucky girl indeed. LincsGeek treated me to a new iPad Air 2 for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. It’s fabulous, I love it – it is definitely better than my old iPad 2 and it has already become my new tech best friend.

But you all know what comes next… because my new iPad is a slightly different size and shape to my old one, and uses a different cable connection, all my accessories are now out of date. Mobile Fun came to my aid straight away and offered to send me one of the new cases they stock – the Krusell Malmo FlipCover for iPad Air 2 in white. It’s a simple case and cover for the iPad, designed to protect the iPad while adding very little bulk to the gadget.

I think you will agree that the case is very neat. When closed up and sat on my desk it really looks the part, taking nothing away from the design of the iPad itself. The bright white is rather stylish (and after ten days or so it’s still nice and clean, although I realise with my record it is likely to look grubby in time – nothing a baby wipe or two can’t deal with), and the case is really thin and light and so far had done an excellent job in keeping my new iPad in tip top condition.

The design is very simple, and I especially like that. The iPad slips into the case with ease and the material has all the required cut outs for switches and speakers so I can leave it in there all the time.

The inside of the case is a lovely soft material that makes sure the back and front of the iPad remain scratch free. I have already noticed a few imperfections in the material (it’s not leather) where the case bends around, you may have spotted some cracked areas in some of the photographs, but so far there is nothing that has made me question the quality of the product or wonder how long it is going to last – I’ll let you know if it gets worse or if the case becomes flimsy as a result.

The case allows you to stand the iPad in two positions – one ideal for watching iPlayer or using FaceTime, the other perfect for browsing the web or playing games (yes I’m still playing The Simpsons Tapped Out, I’m slightly ashamed to admit). Folding the cover into a stand keeps the soft interior material on the inside so it doesn’t get mucky stood on the desk. This functionality makes the case incredibly useful and is probably the main reason I have been using this case instead of a normal slip case.

I really like this very simple but stylish case, it’s effective and really looks the part. You’ll find the Krusell Malmo FlipCover Case for Ipad Air 2 (along with other iPad Air 2 cases) at Mobile Fun for £29.99.

Thank you to Mobile Fun for sending me this case to try out.
