Sixteen weeks! This thing is becoming a habit 🙂 I hope you’re enjoying the vlogs and appreciate that I’m telling my story in this way. The highlight this week was taking a ride on the Cliff Railway in Bridgnorth when I was over there for a work event in the middle of the week.Â
I had some time to explore Bridgnorth briefly including walking along the River Severn, coming across the cutest steps, finding some caves and tunnels that reminded me of Cappadocia, and enjoying the views across the valley. I also show you around the lovely Croft B&B, talk about my hire car and do a lot of chatting in my dressing gown.

OH MY GOODNESS, YOU PLAY WITH SASWE!!!?!?!???! I used to play with SASWE! Do you know Andrew Mackareth then!?!?!??!?!!??!?! My flute teacher Alan Laken used to conduct it with Andrew sometimes!!! I am so excited! He probably won’t remember me but I totally adored Andrew and his wife- he was so funny, such an amazing teacher and musician and she was so nice! I played in about 1993-1996. My name still crops up in SASWE website alumni!

I do I do! And I played in it then too… We’ve met and played together ha!!!!!! Andrew still runs it and Stella is our principal flute. Alan is sadly no longer with us, he was such a great player and inspiration. Wow such a small world!

I miss Alan Laken dearly.I was so sad when he died, he was such a HUGE influence on my life and I have him to thank for lots! He published a piece of music of mine when I was 13! x

And yes, film scores! I’d love to play the whole Star Wars scores- I’ve played the Princess Leia solo in a great windband version of the original but I’d love to do the whole thing! I played for a concert once where there was a silent movie called Lucky Star which a friend won a competitition to compose a new score for!
