The bass guitar I’ve been playing for the last 10 years finally gave up a couple of weeks ago. It’s an Epiphone ET-280, 40 years old, with a lovely sound. Now the pickups don’t work very well and the switch has gone it was time to think about investing in my own bass guitar.
Over the last week I’ve done a lot of window shopping. I’ve also done a lot of research into the kind of bass I should be looking at. I decided I wanted a full-scale bass (the Epiphone is a short-scale), a four string, and an active bass to give me lots of control over the sound. I eventually decided on a Yamaha RBX374 as my preferred bass, and today I placed my order!! To be honest I wanted the green one, but the black one was quite a bit cheaper and still looks fab so I’ve gone for that instead.
