Dresses for All Occasions

I’ve said it before… I’m getting more and more girly. I even wear dresses these days. I know!

Next Dresses - Casual

I had a browse of the Next website (as part of a Fuel My Blog campaign) and there are loads of dresses to choose from.  It’s really easy to narrow down the selection if you’ve got an idea of what you want – you can select colour, fit (regular, slim etc), length, brand, neckline (v, crew etc), sleeve, use (party, casual, formal, workwear etc), design feature (colour block, ruffle, bow, lace etc) – they have really made use of keywords to make finding a specific style easy.  Just look at all these options…

But if you don’t know what you want then it’s really easy just to wander through the site looking at this and that. Opening each dress gives you a link to the collection page from the Next catalogue so you can flick through similar styles for some inspiration.

On many dresses you even get links to perfect accessories or shoes, making shopping for a full outfit really easy.

It’s perhaps not as easy to tell the feel and look of the material like you can in store, but the zoom feature does help.

One thing to remember is you can’t open dresses in a new tab or window using the middle button on your mouse – you need to right click and select the option if you want to compare that way.

To help with this post Next sent me this orange lambswool tunic dress.

The first thing that I noticed was how similar the dress was to the photo on the website (ok so it doesn’t look as good on me as on the model on the site – hence me using the photo from the website, but it’s definitely the same dress).  I’d say the colour is pretty accurate too, although it’s not quite the same – incredibly difficult to get right on a screen.  The material is soft and warm, and the little buttons on the shoulder are a nice detail.  At £38 it’s a great price for a dress to team with tights and heels for work – or don some leggins and military style boots for a more casual look on Christmas day or to hit the January sales.

Now I’ve spent some time browsing I’ve got a long wish list (and am looking forward to the sale starting!)… Take a look at the dresses section on the Next website for something for yourself.

Oh, and if you need a dress before Christmas day you have until 9pm on 22nd December to place your order!
