Levi Roots Reggae Reggae… Drinks

I went into my local Spar in search of Lilt (“totally tropical taste”) but was disappointed. That was until I noticed these cans on the shelf.

They looked very interesting, so I parted with the 75p per can and went to try them.

Caribbean Crush

Bearing in mind what I had entered the shop for, I opened this can straight away.  It is a blend of mango, pineapple and grapefruit and even says “tropical taste” on the back!  And I wasn’t disappointed. If I’m allowed to say so, this is just like Lilt, maybe slightly less sweet – a good thing in my opinion.

Ginger Beer

Not just any ginger beer – this is made with Jamaican Ginger Extract and has added lime and honey for quite a unique flavour combination.  I very much enjoy ginger beer (especially Jamaican Ginger Beer), and was not disappointed with this. Really nice. Really really nice. Quite sweet with the added honey but still with that slightly fiery ginger tang you would expect.

I didn’t know that Levi Roots made drinks, but I’m so glad I found them, they are really tasty and absolutely perfect ice cold.  The cans say “put some music in your glass” – I’m not sure my tongue was quite dancing to the beat, but the taste certainly lived up to the reputation of Caribbean flavour.

Oh WOW…. I’m going to be looking for some of the Ginger Beer. I didn’t know he did drinks either.
