Dairy Milk Bubbly

Eating chocolate is an excellent way to give yourself a treat. To help us do that, Cadbury’s have brought out their Dairy Milk Bubbly in a mini “me-sized” bar for us to enjoy on the go. Designed to keep in your bag for those “must have chocolate” moments, these are 40g versions of the already available 100g bars.

Now, as you know, I’m currently trying out the Jenny Craig diet (although I will be having most of this weekend off as we have friends staying). I reckon you’ll be very surprised to learn that I didn’t give into temptation to try the two Bubbly bars I was sent myself… oh no… thankfully my other half (@LincsGeek over on twitter if you wish to thank him for me!) took on his manly duty and was the taste tester for this one. He made out he was doing me a favour. Hmmmm.

Anyway, LincsGeek reports that it’s just a Wispa in disguise. And I can see exactly what he means. The bar has a bubbly shape on top, like you get if you blow a straw into milk, which is unusual. But the chocolate itself is just like a Wispa – aerated with little bubble-like holes. The bubbles in the chocolate give the bar a lovely melt-in-the-mouth quality that a solid bar of Dairy Milk doesn’t have. Of course it tastes like a Wispa because it is normal Dairy Milk Chocolate. He did seem to enjoy it very much, but said it’s nothing new, just something we all know and love with a new name.

What do you think? I would say from looking at this that LincsGeek is right – it’s just a funny shaped Wispa. I assume you’ve all made this comparison too?

Disclaimer: I was sent a couple of Bubbly bars for free to review on Splodz Blogz. I have not been told what to write – I haven’t even eaten them myself!
