Aloe Gel from Forever Bella

Yesterday I started a bit of a health and well-being experiment. Encouraged by a good friend and lots of other people and information, I have started drinking a little Aloe Vera Gel in the morning when I get up in an attempt to look after my insides.

Aloe Vera is known to be useful to the body for a variety of reasons, particularly for the digestive system, immune system, and our skin. The stories and literature tell an amazing story – people with better skin, people who get far less bloated, people whose joints are soothed. After hearing people I know and trust tell me how it has helped them I decided it was worth a try.

I bought a jug of the Berry Nectar version of Forever Living Aloe Vera Gel from Forever Bella, a new business venture by a good friend. I was recommended this one as being particularly excellent for skin.

It’s an odd thing to drink. Think cough syrup but without any of the burning sensation, but with bits in like proper orange juice. It’s not too sweet, but the berry does add a bit of flavour. It is best taken on an empty stomach so I am having it first thing in the morning before drinking a glass of water (my new habit thanks to Four Simple Goals) and then putting the kettle on. I have to admit having had it twice already I am not completely loving the sensation of drinking it; I’m not ready to spit it out or anything, but think it’ll be worth trying it diluted in fruit juice as suggested in the literature.

Let’s face it I know I need a bit of a kick when it comes to doing the right thing by my body. I’m hoping this little wonder drink will give me a good start this side of Christmas.

I’ll let you know when I’ve finished the jug!

In the mean time, please tell me if you’ve ever tried Aloe Vera Gel and what you thought.
