I have been away from Splodz Blogz whilst on my holiday so thought I would put these three weeks worth of photos into one post. There will of course be a post or two featuring my American motorcycle road trip soon, so for now I’ll just share the photos and captions… lots of them!
Week 24
Wednesday 18 June – View from the plane window over the English countryside as we flew out of Heathrow.
Thursday 19 June – Looking over a hot and hazy LA from the Griffith Observatory.
Friday 20 June – Icy? It was 48 Celsius as we decended this mountain in Idyllwild, California!
Saturday 21 June – Roy’s Motel & Cafe on Route 66; even more in the middle of nowhere than I had imagined.
Sunday 22 June – More of Route 66, this time at Cool Springs. Those tar snakes were slippery if you caught one with your wheel!
Monday 23 June – Monument Valley, backdrop to every Western movie ever made.
Tuesday 24 June – Looking over the Valley of the Gods in Utah having ridden along the road you can see followed by a steep winding gravel/dirt track.
Week 25
Wednesday 25 June – Harley Davidson Cafe, Las Vegas; the only place on The Strip we could have had dinner, really!
Thursday 26 June – Inside the Luxor, Las Vegas; so big I couldn’t fit it all in my photo!!
Friday 27 June – Death Valley; the hottest place on Earth (thankfully not today, it was “only” 45!).
Saturday 28 June – My first close up view of a mountain lake and I’m in love! This is Tenaya Lake, Yosemite National Park.
Sunday 29 June – LincsGeek living the American life at Mountain Sage.
Monday 30 June – Stereotypical shot of San Francisco.
Tuesday 1 July – Jellyfish at Monterey Aquarium.
Week 26
Wednesday 2 July – Sun shining over Pismo Beach, California.
Thursday 3 July – Our bikes (mine is the Fat Boy, LincsGeek had the Heritage Softail) and the Eaglerider support van in Malibu.
Friday 4 July – I left America on Independence Day with just a couple of dollars left in my pocket. Fantastic trip.
Saturday 5 July – We had so much luggage we had to use one of these for the first time ever!
Sunday 6 July – The Lancaster flying over our garden as part of the Waddington Air Show.
Monday 7 July – A day at home with some tea and some writing.
Tuesday 8 July – The sun was shining so I went for a walk.
