The Wild Summer Handbook

posted in: Competition, The Outdoors | 2

What are your plans for the summer months? I hope you’re planning lots of time outdoors, enjoying what the world beyond your front door has to offer. Lots of walking, cycling, exploring, nature watching, micro adventures, open water swimming… what else?

If you’ve not already made plans (or even if you have), it’s not too late. There’s always time to get outdoors! Wild Things Publishing want to encourage us to make the most of the great outdoors this summer, so they created the Wild Summer Handbook, a free downloadable guide to help inspire you for all kinds of outdoor based adventures over the summer months, and also has a checklist of fun wild challenges to try out.

It’s a neat little guide that should definitely get you started on a little adventure (or a big one) this summer – whether you have kids to entertain or not. I’d added a couple of things to my bucket list as a result; I can’t believe I didn’t have river walking on my list already; I’ve also added go barefoot for a day and swim under a sea arch or into a sea cave. Come on – who’s going to join me to roll down a hill like we all used to as kids? There’s a really big hill close to my house, although I think I might get a bit out of control down there!

To help get us all in the mood, the Wild Things Publishing team are running a couple of competitions alongside their Wild Summer campaign. The first is a giveaway with some really cool outdoors related prizes (I’ve got my eye on the Glamping break so please leave that one for me), and the second is a photo competition that involves you ticking something off the list in the guide and sharing your images using #wildsummer.

For all the information about the campaign – to download the handbook and enter the competitions, head over to the Wild Things Publishing website.

I walk around barefoot most of the time or in fit flops 🙂 Got lots planned for the Summer, most of it outdoors but not really in a wild way. Will have a look at the handbook

I walk around a lot and so flip flops aren’t great for my feet (no-one likes sore feet). I bet some of your plans are wild… watch out for the competition details coming tomorrow so you can take part 🙂
