Weekly Vlog Episode 5

Happy Christmas! I hope you’ve had a great week this week, whatever you’ve been up to. After some great and very helpful comments over the last month on my weekly vlog experiment, it looks like it’s here to stay, at least for now. So here goes episode five. Skip straight to the bottom of this blog post or head straight to Splodz Blogz TV if you don’t want to read the text that goes with it this time around.

Splodz Blogz TV

My weekly vlogs start on a Saturday and finish on a Friday (I edit on Saturday and post on Sunday), which means this episode includes the week before Christmas and Christmas Day itself. I managed to find time for a handful of short walks close to my home, which make up the bulk of this vlog – lots of countryside and nice skies for you to look at. Oh it’s good to get outside! Apart from the walking I also did a fair amount of cooking, so get ready for lemon meringue ice cream, iced mince pies (oh yes, iced), and a festive cottage pie – “festive” simply referring to the fact it was served on Christmas Day and not representative of the ingredients. I did consider putting sprouts and parsnips in it but quickly went back to my tried and tested favourites. Sorry to say most of these things have already been eaten, but you’re welcome to join me next time!

Unfortunately I didn’t make it to my goal of 50 subscribers by Christmas but hey ho never mind… I love that 36 of you have already clicked that little red button over on YouTube and am hoping that my vlog this week will encourage a few more. While I’m on the subject, do let me know what you think of my channel, if you’re enjoying the vlogs, if there’s something particular you’d like to see, if you like the little cooking montages, if you think I should add background music, if you want me to make “proper” videos as well as these vlogs. Lots of questions I know, but do pipe up and say if you have an idea or suggestion, I’m all ears.

Right I’d better get on as I’m off to enjoy another special day with my family, did someone mention turkey with all the trimmings? Hope you enjoy this… see you next week!

P.S. To my regular blog readers, thanks so much for sticking with me as I try this experiment that is vlogging. Some of you probably hate video, so I want to make sure I offer you some content you also enjoy. How would you like to see this weekly Sunday post develop here on Splodz Blogz? A week in instagram run down? Just leave it as it is and you’ll ignore it? Let me know!
