Vlogging Update

Splodz Blogz TV

Oooo a video? It’s been a while. Don’t get too excited, it’s only a very short update. Watch…

Sadly I came to the conclusion just before we went on our trip that I just don’t have the time for weekly vlogging. Boooooo! What with working full time, wanting to write better blog posts, and all the various other things I want to do with my time, I simply don’t have four or five hours on a Sunday to edit and post a 20 minute summary of my week. Add to that the fact that no-one wants to sit and watch the vlog of someone who only seems to film when she’s in the kitchen making dinner, I figured I should just make the decision to quit the regular weekly vlogging and free up time for other things.

But I still want to make videos, especially the informal vlogging style, because I enjoy watching them and making them. They’re like real reality television made by real people doing real things. Could I say real any more in this post?! Weirdly enough they also help boost my everyday confidence, which is a totally unexpected but rather brilliant side effect. I’m thinking I will try to film when I’m doing something interesting, whether that’s a bucket list tick, a great hike, a weekend spent with friends, or the like. I hope this means you’ll enjoy the videos more even though they’re not going to be to a particular schedule. I know a proper schedule is better for lots of reasons, but I have to be honest with myself and this I think is a decent compromise.

I was also thinking about making more “normal” videos on occasion too; I’ve experimented with chatting-to-the-camera stuff but haven’t really got into them because they feel kind of weird. Is this something you’d enjoy watching me do? If so, what topics would you like me to cover? Obviously I’m not going to be showing you how to get the perfect hair or makeup, but I could definitely be persuaded to do some more #AskSplodz chats or maybe kit demonstrations or the like.

So… first of all, make sure you have subscribed to my YouTube channel, Splodz Blogz TV. This means I know you’re interested in what I might be able to produce. Next, comment below telling me the kind of video you’d like me to make. And we’ll go from there. Oh and if you’d like to see me give SnapChat a proper try, let me know. I’m Splodz over there too and tried a “day in the life” yesterday, but maybe I’m too old for it.  I don’t know!
