Right at the end of December 2025, I headed to Norway for ten days of winter fun – first on a cross‑country skiing trip in Venabu with Gutsy Girls, and then on a solo‑ish city break in Oslo. It was a trip full of cold air, big skies, tiny moments, and more feelings than I expected…
This blog entry is simply a quick note to say that the first two daily vlogs from that adventure are now live. I’ve decided to release days one and two together – not because of any clever strategy, but because they make a rather lovely pair to watch over a cup of tea. Ten minutes each, they (hopefully) provide a little window into the start of the trip.
As always, I’m a words‑first kind of person, so the full adventure journals will follow soon. Think of these videos as the trailer: a taste of the travel, the weather, the nerves, the joy, and the very human wobbling that comes with trying something new in deep winter.
Travel with me to Norway | My Norwegian Christmas Adventure – Day 01
Day one is all about the journey north: car, plane, train, minibus… and then that first breath of cold Norwegian air. You’ll get a tiny room tour (actually, two), a lot of pre‑adventure chatter, and – unexpectedly – a first glimpse of the northern lights before I’d even unpacked my bag.
First Cross-Country Ski Lesson | My Norwegian Christmas Adventure – Day 02
Day two is where things get real. It starts with me feeling decidedly not‑my‑best and ends with a very tired, very emotional woman in need of sleep. In between: two ski lessons, a lot of learning, a lot of food, and an astonishing display from the northern lights that made every wobble worth it.
If you fancy joining me at the very beginning of this winter adventure, both videos are ready for you over on my YouTube channel now. Full blogs (and more vlogs) to follow – but for today, enjoy the first steps into snowy Norway.
