Last month I was pleased to become a blogger for mypure (see http://splodzblogz.wordpress.com/2010/05/14/i%e2%80%99m-a-mypure-blogger), which means I will be sent a selection of products by mypure to test and review on Splodz Blogz.
May’s parcel never arrived (bad Royal Mail!) so mypure very kindly sent me another one and gave me a few extra days to test and review them because when they did arrive I was off on my holidays. I have now had them for a week and have been making use of the three things in the parcel… so here goes my first mypure review.

All three products are new to me – the actual products themselves as well as the brands, so I was looking forward to trying these out. As I normally do with reviews on Splodz Blogz, I’ll take each product in turn.
Kosmea Eighth Natural Wonder Revitalising Facial Serum
The first thing that struck me about this product was that it costs £25/20ml… so I had high expectations. I used it in conjuntion with my normal Liz Earle routine, using it to replace the moisturiser that I use daily.
The serum was a really light and had a lovely subtle smell. The little pump dispensed just the right amount to use on my face and neck after cleansing and toning morning and evening, and was very easily absorbed. Some of the days I used this serum it was very hot and I didn’t find it made my skin feel slimy at all, which some moisturiers do.
As for the anti-ageing effects, well I would like to think that I have quite young skin still, but even after a week of using this twice a day I did feel my skin was more hydrated and maybe even more toned. But I have to admit that as I am very bad at sticking to any sort of routine (even with my Liz Earle which I know I like) that may not have been down to this product alone, but perhaps due to using any sort of product regularly.
A’kin Pure Rose Hydrating Facial Mist
When this arrived and I spoke to a friend about what I had received to test, she informed me that she keeps this by her computer and it’s great as a cooling mist when it’s warm. She spoke of the product highly which made me really want to give it a go.
It is described as revitalising, refreshing and soothing – three words which I am more than happy to reiterate following my test. I first used this product on two of probably the hottest days of the year so far, when I was involved in an event which made me very hot (I spent some of both days in a kitchen), but when it was important that my face didn’t look flustered or my makeup go smudgy. So I put this product in my handbag and made good use of it – spraying it on my face and arms every now and again over the two days. While working around a hot kitchen meant my face still looked warm(!) I certainly felt refreshed each time I used it, and it definitely helped give me a lift as I was given confidence that my face wouldn’t be shiny. And I love the smell! Not overpowering for others who may be around when I used it, or chemical in any way. It was a pleasure to use.
Now I have given this mist a good test for Splodz Blogz it will live on my desk at work for those moments when I need a revitalising, refreshing and soothing helping hand. This one is definitely a win for me.
Lovea Moroccan Argan Brilliance Shine Shampoo
I have pictured this shampoo with my everyday choice – Herbal Essences for coloured hair (although there isn’t much colour left in my hair at the moment!) – as this is what the comparison will be made with (despite the Lovea being around twice the price).
My hair is blonde, long and fine, so a shampoo that said it would make my hair stronger did appeal. And this “argan oil” is something I have heard alot about recently (see my review of Mir skin care) so I was intrigued to see what it would be like in a shampoo. I used it every day for a week, without following with any conditioner.
And I wasn’t disappointed. This almost-clear shampoo was really lovely. The smell was fantastic for my morning shower, and the product really cleaned my hair well. I found it did exactly what it said on the bottle with regards to shine – my hair has felt and looked good (in my opinion) over the last week I have been using this (both after blow-drying and leaving it to dry naturally). Whether my hair is stronger is hard to tell in a week, but I am certainly happy with this shampoo from Lovea so far and will be continuing to use it until this bottle runs out and you never know, I may have to buy another one!
Overall
While I won’t be spending my own money on the Kosmea serum, I would like to buy the Akin facial mist again and will almost certainly be buying the Lovea shampoo again. Of the three I would most recommend the facial mist as it’s great at doing what the company states and is perfect to keep in a handbag or on the office desk.
