mypure Review – Lovea Bio

The last parcel I received from mypure to test included this Lovea Bio Argan Oil Cell Renewal Body Scrub, which retails for £7.49 on the mypure website.

I’ve used this a few times but to be honest I’m not liking it… let me explain.

On the mypure website the description is:

Lovea Bio Body Scrub with Argan Oil is formulated with orange peel, sugar and argan oil to gently exfoliate and promote cell renewal.

Apply 1-2 times a week on damp skin, using small circular movements with emphasis on the rougher areas. Rinse thoroughly.

Yes, a lovely smell. Yes, sugar to exfoliate. But it’s that last sentence – “rinse thoroughly”. Now please don’t think I mind being in the shower – I love a shower in the morning – but how much rinsing can this possibly take?  The first time I used it I rinsed it off as usual, but when I got out of the shower I noticed an almost slimy layer.  “Oh that’s the oil in it” I thought, but it wasn’t just a moisturising layer, it didn’t feel right.  So the next time I used it, and the few times since, I have been much more thorough in my rinsing, but still I don’t like the “finish” it leaves on my skin.  I’ve not used oil based shower scrubs before so I’m guessing here that any other one would feel the same – I now know I don’t like them.

That aside, I did have another problem with this product.  I have used it a few times, but now unfortunatley cannot get any more out of the tube.  The grains of sugar suspended in the liquid are what makes this a scrub of course, but they have jammed up the tube and I cannot get any more out!  It happened once in the shower and despite what can only be described as squeezing with all my might (I didn’t think until afterwards the whole thing could have exploded and the product gone everywhere!), I gave up and used my regular shower gel.  After clearing it with a handy unbent paperclip I tried again… I got a small amount out before exactly the same happened again. I’ve now given up!

Ok ok so I hate giving a negative review but I did promise myself when I started this blog that I would be honest.  And I’m afraid when it comes to Lovea Bio Argan Oil Cell Renewal Body Scrub my opinion is not good.  It’s not horrible, it doesn’t do anyone any harm, but I don’t like the “finish” it leaves to my skin after use, and I don’t like the fact I can now not get any out of the tube without taking an unbent paperclip into the shower with me. Sorry mypure, but I cannot recommend this product to Splodz Blogz readers.
