Year in Photos (25 Jun 11) – Temple Wood

posted in: Year in Photos | 1

Temple Wood is one of our regular spots for a walk when we get chance on a Saturday afternoon.  Today we enjoyed a few hours wandering around.  The wood is part of Kesteven Forest, run by the Forestry Commission, and close to Aslackby, near Bourne, Lincolnshire.  There are wild deer and buzzards living amongst the trees – today we were lucky enough to see a group of deer for the first time since we’ve been going there (we really need to order that 300mm lens for the Nikon!).  The wood has an interesting history… from Knights Templar to nuclear missiles… it’s well worth a visit if you fancy a walk some time.
