The Splodz Blogz One Hour Outside February Photo Challenge 2026 | #SplodzDPC
February has a way of sneaking up on us, don’t you think? Grey edges, cold mornings, with the quiet promise that spring will return. For the tenth year running, the One Hour Outside February Photo Challenge is here to help us notice the small things that make this month worth stepping into.
Whether you’ve joined in before or you’re discovering this tradition for the first time, welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
A Month of Noticing
Over the years, our cameras have become extensions of our pockets and our routines. We curate, we edit, we store thousands of images we may never look at again. But there’s something grounding about pausing, just for a moment, to take a photo with intention.
This challenge is a simple invitation: spend a little time outdoors each day in February, and take one photo inspired by the daily prompt. Think of it as a tiny act of presence, a way to reconnect with the world beyond your screen and your to‑do list. A small ritual of looking out and up (or down, as appropriate!).

The 2026 One Hour Outside February Photo Challenge
Each day in February, take a photo that reflects the prompt. Take it for yourself. Or share it – if you like – on Instagram, Facebook, your blog, anywhere else, using #SplodzDPC. By the end of the month, you’ll have 28 glimpses of your world as it really was in February 2026: unfiltered, honest, and wonderfully ordinary.
Interpret the themes however they fit your life. Some days you might find the perfect shot on your lunchtime walk; other days you might be standing at your doorstep, capturing the way the light hits the pavement. And if you miss a day, or dip into your archive, that’s absolutely fine. This is meant to be joyful, not stressful.
The heart of the challenge is simple: let the prompts help you see your surroundings a little differently. If they encourage you to get your One Hour Outside each day, brilliant. If life keeps you indoors on some or all of the days, you can still play along – creativity doesn’t mind.

Sharing Your Images
Take a look at the theme, head outside (or to a window), and snap your photo. If you feel like sharing, use #SplodzDPC so we can all enjoy each other’s perspectives. It’s always fascinating to see how differently we interpret the same word or idea.
And if you have a moment, like and comment on others’ photos. The hashtag holds years of February memories, you might even spot some familiar faces from past challenges.
I’ll be sharing the prompts and my own daily photos on Instagram and Facebook throughout the month. It would be wonderful to have you alongside me this year, adding your own moments to this growing collection of February stories.
Let’s make February 2026 a month of creativity, connection, and stepping outside, camera in hand, curiosity switched on. See you out there.
