New Challenge?

Lots of friends are setting themselves fitness challenges at the moment.  A friend at work has challenged herself to ride her bicycle to work every day, and a friend on Twitter has challenged herself to ride 2,000 miles on her exercise bike in the next 100 days.

Well I’m definitely not up to riding to work every day (20 miles each way along a busy A road) or doing 2,000 miles on the exercise bike in 100 days (20 miles a day!), but maybe I should set myself a fitness goal?

I go on holiday on 28th May – 46 days time, maybe I should set myself a fitness target to reach by then?

I’ve got an exercise bike and a push bike… how many miles is feasable in 46 days for someone who works full-time and has a busy life outside work?

Or maybe I should stick to running?  How many miles should I be able to jog in 46 days bearing in mind my absolute maximum distance in one go is 10km (just over 6 miles) and on a normal run I do 2-3 miles?

What do you reckon?  What are you going to challenge me to do?  Comment on this post with your suggestions!

Sounds like a brilliant idea! Wish I could join you! I’d go with cycling, then you’ve no excuse in bad weather!

Hows about 100 miles by any means; so… running, cycling, swimming walking etc – as long as there is no engine involved! Just over 2 miles per day….
