Just a painting of my dad, buying me an ice-cream on Dunwich Beach when I was young. Still is the strongest memories of him, doing this thing with me. Strange how the mind works

Ooo, lovely prize!!
I think my favourite summer memory would be last year – after 3 days of hard trekking we finally came out upon the vista of Machu Picchu in the sunrise. I achieved one of my life ambitions that day and doubt that there are many views in the world quite as stunning as that so it would make the perfect picture!

For me it would have to be my daughter playing in a paddling pool for the first time. The smile and the joy on her face as she was splashing around was so heartwarming, a memory I hope never fades 🙂
Eleanor
Taking the family for our first holiday camping, our son loved it very much, a family portrait would be the perfct painting to remember this.
Amy
My favourite memory was whilst I was travelling in India. An Indian sunset is truly beautiful.

Me, my mum, stepdad, brother, sister and grandad went to Butlins for the first time last year and it was hilarious. We don’t often get the family together for holidays so it was really good to get us all together and having lots of fun.
Caroline
when I was much younger, in my teens, I had a close group of friends, we used to go to the beach, dress up in fancy dress to go to the pier, bbq’s and never a dull moment. I miss those carefree days..

When I was about 4 years old, walking through the local allotments with my Grandma where all her friends would let me pick as many raspberries and redcurrants as I could eat. The tummy aches afterwards were worth every moment!

Best summer memories would probably be camping as a kid, when you feel completely free and you feel that September is million miles into the future and that some never ends.
Katherine
Going to the movies with my brother and sister during the school holidays
Chloe
I enjoyed seeing friends and family up north as we didnt often get to visit them after we moved, we used to always get a chocolate bar ffrom grandma who kept them in her purse especially for when family visited. Thinking back I do wonder how long they had been sat there as we didn’t visit too often
Linda
Our family would take it in turns to choose where we went in the summer holidays, I used to always choose the beach. I loved making sandcastles and finding jellyfish in rock pools.
Emily
Seeing the kids having fun playing out in the garden.
Janette
We would have big bonfires in our garden and roast marshmallows on the longest wigs we could find
Amanda
Last summer we took our children to the petting zoo they thought it was the most amazing experience besides Christmas. After we would make collages of the animals and make animal masks.
Hazel
The first time my son paddled in the sea when he was a toddler. He always loved water and the look on his face was wonderful.
Gordon Miller

Mine will have to be when i was young, i always went on little outings with my Grandparents, just a few minutes away from home, but it was like a million miles away. We took a flask of tea and some sandwiches and spend the entire day walking through gorgeous countryside and Lovely woodlands.

My grandaughter (carefully!) learning to knit, without dropping a stitch. The expression on her face is hilarious.
