Hot Tuna – Iconic Aussie Apparel

Consider yourself a bit of a surfer chick?

No?

Well I’m a wannabe surfer chick does that count?!

I was recently introduced to Hot Tuna, a very cool looking Aussie surfer come skate brand that has been about for many years (since 1969 in fact).  On discovering the website I have to say I’m totally in love with the style, the design, and the hoodies!

Born on the beaches of Australia in 1969, Hot Tuna is one of the world’s oldest, most iconic, surf-fashion brands and has grown from a single surfer’s vision into a global phenomenon.

I’m reliably informed that Elle Macpherson loves Hot Tuna so much she joined as its executive director, but there are also other celebrity fans including Vanessa Hudgens, Michelle Rodriguez, Lily Allen, Lindsay Lohan, Carl Barat, The Horrors, Chris Martin and The Saturdays.

Hot Tuna Tee

Here’s a bad self-portrait of me in the tee Hot Tuna very kindly sent me.  And I love it!  It’s long, nicely shaped, and has an awesome piranha (the Hot Tuna logo) on it.  Perfect with jeans, long enough for leggins.  This is exactly the laid back surfer style I am really comfortable wearing, but with a bright and funky twist that can only stand out.  There are loads of tees like this on the website – fabulous weekend and holiday wear.  There are also loads of warm and cosy looking hoodies, and I’ve got to get my hands on one of them!

I’m loving green at the moment (ok, I’m always loving green!).

Hot Tuna

Above we have the Slow Sand Green Hoodie, the Tuna Logo Lime Hoodie, and the Drip Tee Green.

Price wise you’re looking at similar prices to other branded hoodies and tees, and the quality is excellent.  Oh and size… these are narrower than they look, my medium fitted just right.

Go look at Hot Tuna… and let me know what you end up buying!
