Do you like my new iPhone case? It’s rather professional looking don’t you think? Very clean lines, and a lovely creamy grey colour.
It’s the Seejacket Flap Plus Leather Case by Artwizz (in dark grey) that I recently received from MyTrendyPhone.co.uk to review.
The case is a solid flip-style grey leather with soft brushed interior. The phone sits in a plastic case that grabs it at the corners securely. As you would expect you can get to all the necessary buttons and connections around the phone – headphones, volume, speakers, camera lens and lock button are all available. You do need to have the case open to use the lightening socket at the bottom of the phone but the case folds back on itself so you can sit it in a docking station without any difficulty.
The flip front stays closed courtesy of a magnetic flap at the top of the case. It is strong enough to not come open too easily but not so much that it’s difficult to open up the case and use your phone. I haven’t had any incidents of the case flap coming open when the phone is in my handbag or when I’ve been holding it – it seems such a small closure but it does the job.
I like the idea of a flip case as they offer protection to the screen when it’s in my bag (there is a definite peace of mind knowing my screen is completely covered – and it also means I’m not quite as distracted with all those notifications when the phone is sat on my desk!), but they do add a lot of bulk to the phone. With my iPhone5 in the case this measures just shy of 15mm deep so it is considerably fatter than my iPhone on its own (8mm). I don’t mind that, though, it still fits in my pocket and I appreciate the added protection of the case going all the way over the front, although I do swap back to my incase snap case when I want something more discrete.
One thing that I find strange with having this kind of case is actually using it to make a phone call… I feel like I’m using an old fashioned mobile phone with the flip down front hanging down by my chin! I’ve mentioned before it does fold back on itself so you don’t actually have to have the flap waving about around your face!
This is a lovely looking case that seems great quality. I’ve been rather clumsy recently and dropped my phone in the kitchen the other day – thankfully no cracks or chips (phew) which has to be in part to do with the case.
It is available from My Trendy Phone for £29.20 who also have a wide range of other iPhone5 cases too.
