To celebrate the launch of the brand new Discovery Foods Instagram feed at the beginning of July, they are running a little photography competition this month (sorry, I know I’m a week late telling you, but there is still lots time to enter!).
They are looking for images of your creative uses for their Mexican food range… simply create a delicious and beautifully presented Mexican meal using Discovery Food products and share your photo via Instagram to be in with a chance of winning one of 10 exciting prizes to the value of £25 every week for 4 weeks!
I’m sad to say I’m not very creative when it comes to Mexican food. Not creative as in “unusual” or “wacky” anyway. I guess I’m just not very imaginative when it comes to food. But I did cook LincsGeek and I a rather tasty evening meal of tacos and potato wedges and I took these five photos on my phone (also available on my Instagram feed) to enter in the competition.
I received the taco shells and the salsa featured in these photos from Discovery Foods (along with some other bits and bobs) so I could write this post. The tacos were little – quite narrow – which on the one hand made them quite difficult to fill with the salad, salsa, soured cream, taco mix and cheese we wanted, but on the other hand made them very easy to eat. They were definitely best when warmed up in the oven. The upside-down squeezy bottle of salsa was really lovely – a really good tomato flavour and came out of the nice big hole in the bottle very easily.
