Some To Do List Additions

posted in: Bucket List | 4

A few weeks ago I posted on twitter and facebook asking for to do list inspiration. I felt like giving my list a bit of an update – it’s time to add some things to it to give me new motivation.

And (naturally) you didn’t disappoint! I already had some notes things I’ve thought of recently, but my friends on various social media sites have added several new ideas to my ever growing list. And I can’t wait to get some of these things organised.

Here’s a selection of what’s been added (in no particular order):

  • Ice Karting (already booked for January 2014)
  • Badger Watching
  • Make my own Rolling Pin
  • Sheer a Sheep
  • Sea Kayaking – again (it’s been many years and it was only in Plymouth Sound!!)
  • Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP)
  • Axe Throwing
  • Shoot a Cross Bow
  • Climb Mont Blanc
  • Motorcycle over the Menai bridge
  • Surf on a Flo Rider
  • Walk across the Langkawi Sky Bridge, Malaysia. Would you cross it?!
  • Visit the man made rabbit warren used in The Burrowers (if that is even possible!)

If you’ve read my list you may have notice that one of my long-standing items has turned green. I had my first massage a couple of weekends ago courtesy of the lovely Janine at Eden Hall Spa. I gave my sister a day there for her birthday and it seemed only right that I joined her – and the perfect opportunity to treat myself too. The message was absolutely wonderful; very relaxing and my back and neck felt fantastic afterwards. I can definitely see why people have massages regularly, I’m already thinking about when I can have my next one!

You can see my full list over on my to do list page (you can always see this in the menu at the top of the page) – and if you ever think “oh Zoe should add that to her list” or you think you can help me tick something off, then make sure you comment here or there or tweet @Splodz.

What’s on your list?!

You have ambitious goals! At my age, I don’t think in specific terms (like doing something at a particular place), I just aim toward fun, athletic, healthy activities. I’ve stopped predicting what life will be like and just live it. Some things surprise me by being better than I expect (e.g., motorcycling) while other things are worse (e.g., hot-air ballooning).

Lots of fun, athletic, healthy activities sounds good to me. I have my list as a kind of inspiration – it reminds me what I have been thinking about and gives me motivation to get organised.

It’s interesting that you say hot air ballooning was a disappointment – that has been on my list for many years and I’d say it’s pretty much near the top; I guess the risk is always that things won’t live up to the expectations we put on them.

Ooh lots of interesting things to add to your list! Have you got the Great Wall of China on there? I think a Thai cooking class in Chang Mai, standing on the glass floor of the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, standing in a monsoon in India, play with lions in Africa. Just a few of the things I’ve done over the last couple of months, I reckon you’d enjoy them! I also recommend you this book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Make-Most-Your-Time-Earth/dp/184353925X

More travel than overall life stuff but I get the feeling you’d enjoy reading it – it’s not just a ‘go to these places’ book, it’s experiences within different places. I’ve got it on my bookshelf at home 🙂

I am so incredibly jealous of you taking a year out to travel to all those amazing places. So many adventures so close together! My adventures have to be more spread out.

I’m off to the book shop now… There’s a Britain one too apparently so I’m going to have a look at that too.
