You might remember a little bit back I was sent a really nice lime green frying pan that boasted environmentally friendly credentials. I liked the green earth frying pan from Ozeri and have continued to use it regularly since I received it to review. This time I have the frying pan’s much larger cousin, a good sized wok.
The Green Earth Wok has a safe and natural ceramic coating which is PTFE and PFOA free. That ceramic coating offers fantastic non-stick performance and is also scratch resistent. The pan itself is made from aluminium and has a Bakelite handle which stays cool.
This large and bright green pan is exactly what any kitchen needs. It is a heavy weight wok with a decent sized flat base but rounded interior that sits safely on the hob and has a cool handle. The thick aluminium and ceramic pan soaks up the heat from the stove and cooks your food quickly and with ease. Most importantly, the non-stick claims are well founded – I’ve cooked many meals in this over the last two or three weeks and I have not had a single thing stick or get burnt – and I am very easily distracted!! It is a doddle to wash up too, no soaking required. I’m suitably impressed.
I easily prefer this wok to the pan I reviewed previously – a large wok like this is good for any stove-top meal that doesn’t require a lid. The capacity means you have space to cook all sorts of dishes including particularly stick eggs and fish without worrying. It’s much better than any wok I’ve owned before, so I’m happy. And the colour is, well, just what I like!
