Announcing the Outdoor Bloggers Network

posted in: Blogging, The Outdoors | 4

I am very excited to announce a project that I’ve been working on for a little while now.

Outdoor Bloggers is a new network for people just like me, people who love to get outdoors and then share something of their experiences with other people through blogging.

I’ve teamed up with the lovely Jenni from The Thrifty Magpies Nest, who might actually love the outdoors a little bit more than me. We both felt that there a are a plethora of blogger networks out there, with fashion, food, beauty and lifestyle bloggers are all very well catered for. But as outdoor bloggers we tend to do our own thing and organise our own adventures as individuals or groups of friends. We want to give outdoor bloggers the chance to meet and get to know each other, with a view to developing a new informal network through which we can organise events and challenges for us all to take part in.

If you are a blogger who loves the outdoors – in whatever form that takes – then you should definitely read on.

Kinder Scout Trig Point

To get things off to what we hope will be a really good start, we are arranging a camping and hiking weekend in the Peak District so we can meet up and chat. We’ve chosen Kinder Scout as the perfect place – pretty central in the country but also a really nice walking route that’ll get our boots working and our hearts beating. Taking place on Friday 29 to Sunday 31 May 2015, we’ll have a couple of nights camping near Edale with a day hike on the Saturday.

We know there is a lot of talk over what an outdoor blogger actually is… well in our book it is anyone who has a keen interest in the outdoors, and that passion comes through in their blog. Whether you are a professional blogger or a hobby blogger, it doesn’t matter, everyone is welcome (we can all learn from each other). Just as long as you are a blogger who writes about the outdoors; walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running, adventure, camping, surfing, exploring, travel, farming, sustainable living, the environment, scouting, and anything else you can think of. If you blog about anything outdoors related then this weekend event is perfect for you.

To be honest we don’t know where this project will lead us (we have so many ideas!), but what we do know is this is our chance to get together and have a really good weekend getting to know each other and enjoying some great countryside. If you are a blogger interested in the outdoors and fancy meeting people just like you, and me, then please get involved.

Check www.outdoorbloggers.co.uk for details and to book your place!

I do hope so – I’m really looking forward to meeting some great bloggers who love the outdoors as much as I do 🙂

This looks awesome! I’m busy on that weekend, so I won’t be able to book myself a spot, but I cannot wait to hear more about the network and its development!
